ZZCETISTAR Bookstore (鲸字号）, an independent bookstore focusing on illustration in Shanghai，now is set to reopen at The HA Art Community, located on Dong'an Road. The area we are currently sitting in is a small reading room, and the books on the shelves are no longer available for sale; they are displayed here for reading and exhibition purposes. ZZCETISTAR regularly invite editors from over ten domestic publishing houses specializing in picture book art and illustration design to join in selecting and updating the shelves.

The Poster

I’m so glad to be a part of this reopening, to create the centerpiece poster for the space. Over the five years, I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Zhang Ye, the store owner. We’ve grown together, sharing cherished moments, common passion in illustration, and this collaboration has been a seamless and joyful process.

When I traveled to London, I was inspired by these interesting places, such as The Brand Museum, pubs, the Paper Theatre, and Liberty stores. These elements compose my mood board for the poster.
